Energy storage technology can assist in achieving energy-saving and economic benefits for green port power grids. The Ministry of Transport issued Order No. 45 of 2019, which stipulates the requirements for the installation of ship power facilities and prioritizes the use of shore power after ships dock. The electricity consumption in ports has the characteristics of frequent changes in load characteristics and frequent peak load operations. Moreover, ports have unique geographical advantages and are very suitable for establishing new power systems through wind and solar energy at the seaside. This not only reduces pollution caused by auxiliary generators on board, but also greatly improves the quality of electricity. Energy storage can also be used for peak valley arbitrage, bringing considerable profits to the port.
